Zonta Club of the Black Hills Membership

Zonta is a classified organization which draws its members from a variety of businesses and professions in the community, giving Zonta members the opportunity to meet executives and professionals in a variety of occupations, whose work is very different from their own.

Membership is open to professional women committed to improving the status of women through international and local collaboration, networking and community service. Being a Zontian has many benefits including the intrinsic rewards of service, enjoyment of great fellowship and advantages of strong mentoring, networking and support.

 

HOW TO BECOME A MEMBER

The best way to become a member of Zonta Club of the Black Hills is to get in contact with a current Zonta member and ask her about Zonta. Let her know you would be interested in attending a meeting. You are welcome to attend a business meeting with a member to learn more about Zonta first hand.

ZONTA MEMBER RESPONSIBILITIES

Membership means participation. Zonta members have a responsibility for regular attendance at monthly meetings, participation on one of the acting sub-committees of the club and payment of annual dues. In addition to these responsibilities, there are many other service and social opportunities in the club. Oh, and let’s not forget . . . have FUN and network with a fabulous group of women!

The rewards of membership in Zonta are far reaching and include:

  • Making a difference in the lives of women and girls everywhere
  • Participating in and support quality service, advocacy and scholarship programs
  • Meeting a diverse range of executives and professionals through member networking
  • Building leadership and mentoring skills
  • Enjoying fellowship and fun through international understanding.  
Zonta members serve and advocate for women and participate in activities that make a difference locally and internationally.

Zonta provides the vehicle for members who share common values to work together to meet common goals. You will meet a diverse group of interesting and stimulating women, locally, nationally, and internationally. You are welcome at Clubs worldwide.

Zonta provides members interested in developing leadership potential with opportunities for growth at a variety of levels; in the local Club, at the District level, or the International level. You will learn new skills and gain self-confidence in a caring and supportive environment.

Zonta Clubs work on both the local and international level for the advancement of women. Zontians serve as role models within their own community.

Zonta provides members with a rare opportunity for international participation through its links with several United Nations agencies, through annual workshops and conferences and through its biennial international convention.

MEMBERSHIP DUES

The Zonta year runs from June 1-May 31. New member *dues are $215.00 ($223.24 for online payments) for the 1st year and yearly *dues of $185.00 ($192.24 for online payments) after that. Half year dues of $128.50 ($133.48 for online payments) are available after Dec. 1.
